Description

An  exercise for recognizing values, light and shadow. Using mainly airbrush. I prefered to use tracing in order to enjoy the process, while practicing the use of values.
This is the original photo. I am very open to get advices about how I can improve :heart:

This is wonderful! The likeness of the child looks pretty much spot on to the picture. Here is what I suggest. Areas like the shoulder and darker areas like her lips should be more defined. The hair is very important for value practice. To me the hair is too mixed together with light values and need more darker values to have more depth. Since you are working on values all I can see is that darker values are needed. Try drawing chiaroscuro to work on darks vs lights! It will help a ton.
