And I am actually quite new to suggesting DDs. Why?
- I did not really know I can do that...
- Once I found out anybody can do that, I was shy to approach artists I admire, who are usually very busy...
- And I did not want to put myself out there, risking to feel rejected and not knowing how to react when we meet again somewhere in dA, maybe related to other projects...
- I thought I do not have the time for it...
And here is why:
1) I love featuring!
I love tracing the artworks I feature, to see if they really get a boost in faves and comments, if they get featured somewhere else (and I am always happy to see when other featurists pick them up for further features, or when they are added to other groups )
A DD is right now the mother of all features! It is simply the most efficient way to gain exposure in a short time.
2) I love working in team
I can only imagine that for the CVs is the same - there is a certain charm about doing this in a team. Hehe - in complicity!
3) I love browsing dA in a meaningful way
I love this site! I love browsing here. I do this since years. I collect faves since years. This brings a new dimension to it!
I can now share it directly with somebody - OMG, look what I found!
4) I love nice surprizes!
Making them and receiving them! And DDs often includes both! Isn't that awesome?!
5) It is a wonderful opportunity to say thank you
Everyone who interacted enough in the community probably knows what I mean. That artist which had a crucial influence on you... Or that person who helped you when you needed the most! The encouragement and the nurturing that this special platform allows us to share can play a crucial role in our life sometimes. Maybe a DD can help us to say thank you in a meaningful way...
I am very happy and grateful that Eric TsaoShin allowed me to say thank you to Inna-Vjuzhanina, who, without really guessing, helped me make one of the biggest discoveries about myself.
I am still extatic over the fact that this wonderful work got rewarded a DD
This was such a strong inspiration to me, I kept drawing it and redrawing it, learning exciting things every step of the way! Thank you again, Inna!
Featured by MarcosRodriguez. Marcos... I do not know where to start describing Marcos... His presence is everywhere in dA for me. I always loved his macro features, as well as his impressive gallery, this is why I was very surprized to see how friendly and approachable he is! I am happy that becoming a CV didn't change that!
Sarah aliasvassily, you proved to be such a nice discovery! I'll be loooking for your DD suggestions!^^
Featured by JunkbyJen I only start to get to know Jennifer, but we are off for a great start! She was so gracious to feature this iconic character, that Eric could not feature under the Fan Art category. And for me as a beginner in digital art, Artgerm provides so many useful resources, that I instinctively looked at his DDs. When he published this awesome version of Superwoman (and, ja, as for many of you, I cannot think of her anymore without moonbeam13 coming to my mind. ), I could not resist, but suggest it! Glad I did! Thank you Jennifer, thank you Eric!
Happy Birthday, Artgerm!
Another work I am super happy it got featured, because it is so spectacular, is DmitryGrebenkov's Ripley
Featured by TsaoShin - who is very friendly and polite. Giving feedback about what type of suggestion would fit or not, and why. I was a bit shy to write to him, being given his success as an artist, and his popularity. Thank you, Eric for your time and interesting feedback!
Featured by Mrs-Durden - Nina is such an inspiration to me! Her community work is absolutely great, and I joined her projects when ever I had the chance! I have been looking for a while to see what types of artworks she likes, and I was very happy when I came accross GinebraSiddal's work, especially that she is quite new to dA. (Welcome to dA, Ginebra!) Needless to say how happy I was when Nina liked this beautiful photo and decided to award it with a DD! Thank you, Nina!
Many thanks to the other CVs featuring my suggestions: CelticStrm-Stock Talty pullingcandy DistortedSmile isthisthingstillon , and also to all of them who processed my messages.^^
